SNP stages protest on entry in Sindh

KARACHI: Opposing the arrival of the internally displaced people of the NWFP, the workers and supporters of the Sindh National Party (SNP) staged a protest demonstration outside the Sindh Chief Minister’s House on Friday. The protesters carried party flags, banners and placards and chanted slogans against the settlement of outsiders in Sindh. They demanded the provincial government to immediately stop the entry of IDPs into the province. A heavy contingent of police was also seen on the occasion as it was the first demonstration on the issue outside the CM’s House. Addressing the protesters, SNP Vice Chairman Ramzan Buledi said that the settlement of refugees in Sindh would not only create a law and order situation in the province but will also convert the local people into a minority. He demanded that the PPP immediately call a session of the Sindh Assembly to discuss this important issue. staff report
