IDPs should be settled close to hometown’

KARACHI: The Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto) Chairperson Ghinwa Bhutto has said that the present situation pertaining to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) calls for measures ensuring that they are provided with shelters and necessities of life in special temporary settlements near their hometown. She stated that the domestic and foreign aid collected for the IDPs should be used to provide such facilities to the IDPs near their hometown and added that settling the IDPs away from their hometowns would give opportunists a chance to exploit people’s sentiments on ethnicity, resulting in a law and order situation in the province. staff report
