Ex-Muttahida councillor, two sons shot dead

KARACHI: A former councillor of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, his two young sons and one of their servants were killed in an attack in Landhi on Wednesday night, police and witnesses said.

The witnesses said that Haji Jalal Khan, son of Luqman Khan, and his sons, Usman Khan and Abdullah Khan, both in their early 20s, were at their small eatery at Zaman Town in Sector 36-B when at around 10.15pm armed men on motorcycles sprayed them with bullets.
The former councillor and his two sons were killed instantly and three others were wounded, one of them fatally.

The bodies and the wounded were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
Sources at the medico-legal section of the hospital told Dawn that the dead victims received multiple bullet wounds from a very close range. The sources said the fourth victim, Sohail, alias Raja, son of Adnan, died at the hospital.
The wounded were identified as Iqrar Ahmed, son of Waqar Ahmed, and Abdus Saeed, son of Saleem Khokhar.
Haji Jalal was stated to be expelled from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement three years ago. He was also an accused in the famous Major Kaleem kidnapping case against Muttahida leaders and workers.

The Awami Colony police said that the number of the attackers could not be ascertained immediately. They added that spent casings of TT pistols were secured from the crime-scene. 

Haqiqi man shot dead
 
A 35-year-old man was shot dead in an attack near his home in Liaquatabad.

The Sharifabad police said the victim, Mohammed Nadeem, son of Nazeer Ahmed, was sitting outside his house (4/300) when two attackers on a motorcycle came there and opened fire on him.
They said the man received multiple bullet wounds and died before he could be taken to hospital.

The Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi) claimed that the victim was its worker. Sources at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital told Dawn that the victim was brought dead to the facility. They said the man received three bullets in his upper torso from a very close range as all the bullets pierced his body.
