Nickie Nina showcase their spring/summer 2009 collection in London
The designer duo from Lahore, Nickie Nina recently hosted a fashion
show at the Jumeirah Carlton, London. The show was opened by Faiza
Samee and Nickie Nina showed their Spring/Summer 2009 capsule
couture collection.
The collection was an amalgamation of both eastern and western
design, with concentration on light airy silhouettes and a
combination of fabrics. Nickie Nina also launched their own fabric
line later last year which included screen-printed and embroidered
designs in silks and chiffons. There were over 15 couture pieces,
using bright colours in full-length gowns.
About the show, the designer duo said, “We were fortunate to be able
to take our brand again to Europe and enjoyed our London showcase
and sharing of the ramp with Faiza Samee and Goal. Our SS’09 couture
capsule collection was well-received, so much so that we are now
stocking at the boutique Onitaa from May. We are now also looking
forward to our Geneva show this May and eventually carry Pakistan’s
liberal image forwards in the way that we know best — through
fashion.”The choreography was by Imran Kureishi and the show was
